There are different opinions about massage after rhinoplasty. While some doctors argue that massaging after rhinoplasty has a positive effect on relieving swelling and regaining the new shape of the nose, others do not want the nose to be touched. Massage application; It is an important advantage that it activates the facial lymphatics and blood circulation, but it is not considered appropriate by some physicians as it may displace newly formed cartilage and bone structures or damage the sutures. However, the mechanism of action of nasal massages is not for shaping.
However, massages after crooked nose surgeries can be done as an additional support in terms of shape. For many years, there may have been shortening of the muscle structures on the oblique side of the curved noses. In addition, changes may have occurred in the general properties of the soft tissues in this region. Nasal massages can be activated here, and the soft tissue can be stretched with massages. It is not the determining factor in shaping alone. It can only contribute to the adaptation of soft tissue structures in the process.
Nose massage is not performed after every rhinoplasty. It should be done only if your doctor recommends it. It should be noted that massage does not create a shaping feature. How often and at what pressure the massage will be done should be decided by the surgeon who performed the surgery.
